A shooter armed with a rifle and tactical gear ambushed border agents as they walked into work Monday morning in McAllen, Texas, according to Fox News.
The unidentified shooter reportedly planned the attack on Border Patrol agents stationed at the Rio Grande Valley annex.
Cops fired back at the perp, who is now dead, according to Fox News.
No border agents were hurt, but a responding McAllen police officer may have been shot, according to the outlet.
The nearby McAllen airport was shut down, with all flights delayed, the city said in a Facebook post.
“Due to off-airport safety concerns, vehicles and passengers will not be permitted to enter the terminal or parking lot. Access will remain restricted until further notice,” the city government wrote.
