Travel YouTuber Adam the Woo shared his excitement for Christmas in an upbeat final video just a day before he was reportedly found dead at his Florida home by a friend who was planning to film with him.
The 51-year-old vlogger, real name David Adam Williams, was smiling and upbeat in a video posted Sunday that showed him touring Walt Disney World Resort and the town of Celebration with someone dressed as the Grinch.
“What a fun night. What a surprising night with the Grinch,” he told his 750,000 subscribers near the end of his final, hour-long video. “Thanks for watching, see you in the next video. The vlog … is over.”
Fellow YouTuber Mike “German in Venice” Khezri told friends that he spoke to Williams later that Sunday about their plan to film more content about their Christmas plans.
But Khezri grew alarmed Monday when he called at Williams’ home and his friend did not answer either the door or his phone, according to a mutual friend, fellow YouTuber Videobob Moseley.
Alarmed, Khezri borrowed a ladder and looked through Williams’ third-story window, where he saw him unconscious in bed, the report said.
He called the police, who have yet to detail the vlogger’s cause of death.
Khezri shared a picture of the pair together on his social media following Williams’s death.
“Today we lost an icon in the YouTube world. I looked up to you. You inspired me you are part of the reason that I started YouTube,” he wrote. “Rest in peace my friend.”
Speaking through his tears, Moseley described his shock at his fellow YouTuber’s sudden death.
“We texted often, we called. He would come to town. We would spend the day together,” Moseley said, adding that Williams “was just such a genuinely nice guy.”
Police have not yet given a cause of death for Williams, who started vlogging back in 2009, eventually growing to over one million subscribers across his two channels.
