A homeless man was fatally hit by a train inside a Manhattan subway station on Wednesday afternoon, police and witnesses said.
The victim, believed to be in his 30s, was spotted on the tracks by a conductor moments before a rumbling northbound E train struck him in the Fifth Avenue-53rd Street E/M Station around 12:25 p.m., according to authorities.
Medics declared him dead inside the station about 20 minutes later.
“He was a homeless man,” an MTA worker who cleaned up the gruesome scene told The Post.
“Do you think we want to see this?”
The dead man’s identity was not released pending family notification, and the NYPD said he was not a victim of a crime.
Northbound trains were skipping the station hours after the deadly incident.
The death comes a day after a man was fatally struck by an L train in the Union Square subway station after he was seen on the tracks, according to police.
No criminality was suspected in Tuesday’s deadly subway hit.
