While some on Saturday were on Coney Island for the Cyclone and Nathan’s, others took advantage of the mild weather to catch some rays.
The strong winds did little to keep sun worshippers from the sand on this 83-degree day.
The last time New York City hit 80 degrees in March was on March 26 of 2021.
The Post spotted several bikinied women laying out on the sand, as well as a group of bare-chested men using the pull-up bar.
“I came for the Vitamin D,” explained SoHo’s Gal Zohar, 47, who spent the day at the beach with her daughter, Alex, who is 5.
The fine weather came just in time for Saturday’s opening day of Coney Island’s Luna park.
Alex was spotted playing in the waves, but not heading out too far into the frigid waters. Gal, though, was not having it.
“It’s too cold,” Zohar said. “But the sun is out and [Alex] has wanted to go to the beach for so long, so I’m like, ‘OK, let’s do it.’”
A group of teenagers in bikinis and swimming trunks enjoyed lounging on the beach, too.
“You only live once,” offered Matt Zelensky, 17, who was at the beach despite the winds for the first time this year with some friends, including Sasha Gowizk, also 17.
Mark Grippo and his son, Wesley, 8, also had to go out and enjoy the nice weather, leaving their Bensonhurst digs for Coney Island.
“On a day like today? You can’t stay home,” Grippo said. “Even though we’re going to a different beach tomorrow. In Florida. I couldn’t stay at home on a day like this.
Eyal Maoz brought his wife, mother-in-law, and two children to the beach for Saturday’s beautiful weather.
All four shared space on a beach blanket after taking the train from Manhattan.
“It’s hot, it’s amazing,” Maoz said. “But the wind is strong, so maybe we won’t stay as long. We’ll see how long the kids survive.”
