Influencer couple Carlo Longo and Sarah Mollica are expecting a rainbow baby less than one year after suffering a pregnancy loss.
“Our miracle baby,” Carlo and Sarah, both 28, wrote via Instagram on Thursday, December 25, sharing maternity photos in front of a well-decorated Christmas tree. “Our little love. Baby Longo on the way 🤍.”
In a follow-up social media video, the pair shared footage of the moment Sarah learned that she is pregnant.
“It is? It is!” Carlo exclaimed to his wife after seeing a positive pregnancy test, later gushing she is “a beautiful mama” in footage of Sarah’s baby bump.
Sharing the footage onto her individual Instagram Story, Sarah wrote, “All I’ve ever wanted.”
Carlo and Sarah have been together since 2019 after initially meeting when she visited his native Italy on a family vacation. Despite an initial language barrier, the pair quickly found love. They eventually got married in July 2021.
The influencers, who often glimpses of their multicultural romance on Instagram and TikTok, announced earlier this year that Sarah suffered a miscarriage.
“Our baby. Our greatest love & our biggest heartbreak,” she wrote via Instagram in August “We prayed for you every second of every day. Growing you and being your home was my biggest blessing in life. Even though we lost you, you made us stronger. You’ll always be a part of us and our story. You’ll always be ours. Our baby.”
Sarah continued, “Talking about such a personal, real, raw, devastating life event to so many people is scary, but what’s scarier is going through this alone. 1/4 [of] pregnancies end in loss. For anyone going through it/has gone through it just know I am here for you. I feel you. I am you.”
Sarah later revealed in a YouTube video that she found out in June that she was pregnant. During an eight-week ultrasound, Sarah and Carlo discovered there was no fetal heartbeat.
“When [the] heartbeat stops is when your body stops producing the hormone, I guess, but it doesn’t notice that you lost the pregnancy,” Sarah explained at the time. “So I had no bleeding, I had no cramping, I still had symptoms. … Having Carlo, like, I tell him all the time, I would not have gone through any of this without him.”
Carlo, for his part, explained why it was so important to support Sarah during their difficult time.
“If I can say something, if your partner goes through this, stay close to your partner, because it’s extremely important,” the Italian influencer said. “I think we can’t understand it. … You know you’re the mother. You have more connection — they grow in you. So, it’s a little bit different. I can tell you they will appreciate forever if you be close to them because they really need it.”
After Sarah and Carlo confirmed her pregnancy, several of their fellow influencers shared their best wishes for a smooth journey ahead.
“GUYSSSS!!! Congratulations!!!! This is the best news ever,” Jessi Higgins wrote via Instagram comment. “Have the most peaceful and blessed Christmas with this little one! ♥️♥️♥️.”
Olivia McNeil replied, “Merry Christmas!! What an amazing blessing!! So happy for you both!”
