Inside Deborra-Lee Furness’ Life Now After Filing for Divorce From Hugh Jackman

Deborra-Lee Furness is moving forward after filing for divorce from Hugh Jackman.

Furness, 69, and Jackman, 56, tied the knot in 1996 and welcomed two children — son Oscar and daughter Ava — before announcing in 2023 that they were separating after 27 years of marriage.

“We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage,” the pair said in a joint statement at the time. “Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.”

Furness officially filed for divorce earlier this month, nearly two years after the exes called it quits. While Jackman has since moved on with his The Music Man costar Sutton Foster, a source exclusively told Us Weekly that Furness is in the process of “rebuilding her life.” Earlier this year, the Australian actress took a vacation to Bhutan to “get away from the pain” and sought comfort from her loved ones.

“She’s relied on a strong support system of female friends,” the insider told Us in March. “She also spends time with other women who’ve been through similar situations who offer her unwavering support.”

One of those women has been her and Jackman’s daughter, Ava. In January, the twosome made a rare public outing together as they attended the Australian Open together to watch Daniil Medvedev and Kasidit Samrej face off in a match.

In addition to getting support from her inner circle, Furness has also attended multiple functions solo. In March, Furness supported author Amy Griffin during the New York City stop for her The Tell book tour. Two months later, she walked the red carpet at the benefit for Parsons School of Design.

As for her relationship with Jackman post-split, an additional insider told Us in February that the divorce has been “stressful,” but the twosome are working on coexisting.

“They’re moving forward as [best they can] despite hurt feelings and pain,” the source shared at the time. “[But] it will take a while to recover because they were together for so long.”
