Jake Paul dismissively referred to Piers Morgan as a “fat ass” before shutting down their heated interview.
“I think the problem here, Piers, is that you think that your opinion matters,” Paul, 28, complained during a tense exchange in a Piers Morgan Uncensored teaser clip released on Thursday, June 26.
Morgan shared the first footage ahead of the full interview’s debut on YouTube later in the day. Paul guested on Morgan’s Uncensored show to promote his boxing match against Julio César Chávez Jr., which will take place on Saturday, June 28.
In the preview clip, Morgan called Paul’s boxing credentials into question, pointing out that the influencer lost to “the only proper boxer” he’d ever faced, Tommy Fury. (Fury handed Paul his first professional loss due to a split decision from the judges in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia, in February 2023.)
Morgan also mocked Paul’s unanimous victory over a then-58-year-old Mike Tyson at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas in November 2024.
“Peak Tyson, you wouldn’t have lasted 10 seconds,” the Piers Morgan Uncensored host argued.
“This s*** is not a joke,” Paul insisted. “I’m knocking out the best of the best. … People don’t realize I’m a real killer. I really f***ing do this s***.”
After Paul insultingly called Morgan “a fat ass,” the host suggested the boxer should stick to being “a great YouTuber” and a “great influencer.”
“You can sit there and make up s*** but you actually don’t know your facts,” Paul insisted.
As the confrontation grew more heated, Paul cut the interview off completely by closing his laptop screen.
Paul’s fiery verbal clash with Morgan wasn’t the only awkward interview he’s had while promoting his fight against Chávez Jr.
Earlier this month, Us Weekly exclusively reported that Paul’s Zoom interview with Extra host Billy Bush went awry once the two started trading sarcastic insults. The trouble reportedly started when Paul joked about not knowing who Bush was, before the Extra host pointed out that his guest had fought “washed-up” boxers.
“Jake’s response was, ‘You’re not a big enough name,’” the source shared. “Billy responded, ‘I’m Billy Bush, the biggest name on TV! I was on the Trump tape!’”
(Bush publicly apologized after behind-the-scenes footage with President Donald Trump from the set of Access Hollywood was leaked prior to the 2016 election. Bush admitted he was “embarrassed and ashamed” to have participated in what critics called sexist banter with Trump.)
The insider predicted that the tense exchange between Bush and Paul would not “make the edit” of the final interview, while representatives for both stars declined to comment.
Paul has frequently challenged Floyd Mayweather Jr. to come out of retirement for one final boxing match. Mayweather told Us in March that he is willing to sign on for an “exhibition” fight against Paul.
“We know we can’t do a real fight because it’s not going to be sanctioned because of the weight difference,” he explained. “But we could do an exhibition. That’s easy work, super easy.”
(Mayweather previously went a full eight rounds against Jake’s brother, Logan Paul, in an exhibition match in Miami Gardens, Florida in June 2021.)
For now, Jake will square off with Chávez Jr. in a 10-round cruiserweight bout at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California on Saturday.
