The best performers of the session on the were Japan Steel Works Ltd (TYO:), which rose 9.93% or 441.00 points to trade at 4,881.00 at the close. Meanwhile, IHI Corp. (TYO:) added 5.44% or 382.00 points to end at 7,406.00 and Fujikura Ltd. (TYO:) was up 5.29% or 244.00 points to 4,860.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Renesas Electronics Corp (TYO:), which fell 4.74% or 100.50 points to trade at 2,018.00 at the close. Daiichi Sankyo Co., Ltd. (TYO:) declined 4.25% or 210.00 points to end at 4,734.00 and Kyowa Kirin Co Ltd (TYO:) was down 3.40% or 109.00 points to 3,100.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 1825 to 1785 and 268 ended unchanged.

Crude oil for November delivery was up 1.24% or 0.87 to $71.24 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 1.08% or 0.79 to hit $74.00 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.05% or 1.40 to trade at $2,651.10 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was up 0.54% to 144.38, while EUR/JPY rose 0.52% to 160.36.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 100.74.
