Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson’s lives are still very intertwined despite announcing their split earlier this year.

“They are getting along well and everyone seems to be very happy,” a source close to Simpson exclusively reveals in the latest issue of Us Weekly. “They talk and see each other all the time and have decided that no matter what happens, they will get along for the kids.”

Simpson, 44, and Johnson, 45, were married 10 years before the singer announced their separation in January. The estranged couple share three children, Maxwell, 13, Ace, 11, and Birdie, 6.

While Simpson and the retired NFL player have yet to officially file for divorce the insider tells Us, “Right now there is no talk of getting back together.”

The source notes that with Simpson and Johnson “you never know” what could happen. “They love each other and will always be supportive of one another,” the insider adds.

“For now, Jessica and Eric will be at a lot of holidays and birthdays together and just navigating their new truth,” according to the source.

Simpson and Johnson’s breakup might be fresh for fans, but split rumors began swirling in November 2024. At the time, Simpson was teasing her new music and revealed via Instagram, “This comeback is personal, it’s an apology to myself for putting up with everything I did not deserve 🎶 🎼 🤍🖤.”
