Joe Pesci scores buyer for NJ home after 2 years on market

Joe Pesci put his tough-guy persona to use and got the price he was asking for when it came to his longtime New Jersey island home, The Post can report.

His determination to stick with the sale price of $6.5 million paid off, despite how long it took to find a buyer.

The on-screen mobster first purchased the eight-bedroom, 8.5-bathroom Lavallette home back in 1994 for $850,000, property records show.

Pesci, 78, first put the house on the market in November 2019 before taking the property off the market at least three separate times and listing it again after failing to entice a buyer.

Despite listing the home before the start of the pandemic, the optimistic price tag initially made it difficult to find a prospective buyer. The home went into contract on Monday.

While attempting to sell the home, the “Goodfellas” star sparred with his Jersey Shore neighbors over how long their docks should be — even channeling his attorney character from “My Cousin Vinny” to keep them from jutting out to where, hey, maybe they don’t belong.

Pesci wrote a letter opposing two new docks that would extend 315 feet out into Barnegat Bay, and in it, he urges state officials to scrap the construction plans “before it’s too late.”

But it appears he won’t have to deal with his neighbors for much longer.

The home sits on a .32 acre lot.

Perhaps the most eye-popping part of the Art Deco-styled mansion is the media room, which is pictured with at least 24 movie posters from Pesci’s hits, including “Goodfellas,” “Casino,” “My Cousin Vinny,” “A Bronx Tale,” “Home Alone,” “Eureka” and others.

Pesci, a Newark, NJ native, recently came out of retirement in 2019 for the critically acclaimed film, “The Irishman,” for which he was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.
