Brothers Jonathan Scott and Drew Scott have been fixtures on HGTV for years — and thanks to their fans, the network’s recent show shakeups haven’t affected their brand.

In fact, Jonathan and Drew, both 47, have a new renovation show, Property Brothers: Under Pressure, premiering in 2026 and their fanbase helped make it happen.

The siblings exclusively opened up to Us Weekly about the show’s origins while promoting their partnership with the 39th Annual Habitat for Humanity Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project. Drew explained the connection with their show Chasing the West, which was about city folks asking the brothers what happens “if we want to leave the city?”

He recalled viewers asking them, “Can you inspire us?” to live on a ranch — whether it was to escape the hustle and bustle or because it was their dream. “So we did a show, and it’s funny to take people outside the city to this ranch life,” Drew explained. “They thought it was gonna be easy, staring at the mountains and sipping their wine, but it’s hard work.”

That same call to action is what prompted Drew and Jonathan to make Property Brothers: Under Pressure.

“The new show is another one that our fans were asking for, and it’s the whole process. From house hunting [to] getting that offer in [and] renovating the house,” Drew shared. “It’s so interesting to see the different dynamics of families and what they feel that they don’t want to touch their home because they just don’t know where to start.”

He noted that the show’s title refers to each buyer being “under pressure” to make their house a home. “We take that pressure off their shoulders and get them into their home,” Drew added.

Jonathan told Us that feeling overwhelmed in home renovation isn’t uncommon, which is why he thinks the new show will resonate with viewers.

“If we had a room of 100 families that had just purchased or renovated a home, and we said, ‘How many of you felt that you were so under pressure that you want[ed] to quit the whole process?’ I guarantee you, every hand would go up right now,” Jonathan revealed. “That’s just the state that we’re in right now, the cost of renovations, the chaos.”

He teased, “This is a show that shows the good, the bad and the ugly. It’s really good. So we’re excited for people to see it.”

Jonathan and Drew’s upcoming series gives HGTV fans something to celebrate amid a massive overhaul at the network. News broke in July that HGTV was cancelling five series, including Battle on the Beach, Farmhouse Fixer, Married to Real Estate, Bargain Block and Izzy Does It.

The following month, HGTV announced “over 100 new episodes” for new and returning shows, including new seasons of The Flip Off and Love It or List It. It was later revealed that Property Brothers: Under Pressure was greenlit and will have 14 episodes airing next year.

While fans wait to watch Jonathan and Drew’s new show, the TV personalities are staying busy by taking part in the 39th Annual Habitat for Humanity Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project, which kicked off this week in Austin, Texas.

The annual work project brings together more than 1,000 volunteers to provide safe, sustainable and affordable housing for Americans in need of somewhere to live amid the country’s unprecedented supply shortage. This year’s project marks the first one since President Jimmy Carter’s death in December 2024 at age 100, making it even more important to Jonathan and Drew.

“If you’ve ever watched Property Brothers and you’re like, ‘That looks so fun. I want to do that.’ Guess what? They’ll let you do that here, and it’s for a good cause,” Jonathan told Us of working with Habitat for Humanity. “Nothing’s more rewarding than volunteering with Habitat.”

Jonathan Knight received an outpouring of love — including from his New Kids on the Block bandmate Donnie Wahlberg — after HGTV canceled several shows. Knight, 56, confirmed last week that his show, Farmhouse Fixer, was not returning for more seasons. He wrote via Instagram that the network “decided not to move forward” with the […]

He explained, “Habitat is not just gifting houses. Habitat is working alongside home owners to build their own home, and then those same home owners pitch in to build their neighbor’s home and the whole community. So this is a remarkable organization that really stretches those dollars around.”

Jonathan added, “It’s really cool, if you’ve never been on the construction site, to actually get in and get hands on. But you can also volunteer. You can also post on social media, spread word to your people, and donate materials to the resource.”

Drew acknowledged that “everyone out there is busy” but encouraged fans to come out to a site and “get involved” if they have time.
