Kim Kardashian’s Skims launched its newest innovation — face shapewear.
Kardashian, 44, is taking shapewear to the next level with her Skims Face Wrap, which dropped on Tuesday, July 29. The shapewear, which comes in two different colors: clay and cocoa, wraps around the neck and velcros in the back. It then covers the jawline and part of the chin before securing at the top of the head with another velcro strip.
The aim of the wrap — which retails for $48 and already sold out — is to support and sculpt the jawline with a collagen-infused fabric. (Collagen helps skin elasticity and hydration.)
“Our first-ever face innovation is here,” the brand described on the site. “This must-have face wrap boasts our signature sculpting fabric and features collagen yarns for ultra-soft jaw support. Velcro closures at the top and nape of the neck allow for easy, everyday wear.”
Fans shared their mixed reactions on the wrap via social media on Tuesday.
“Can’t tell if trolling,” one wrote. A second commented, “What the helly.” A third social media user added, “WOW. I thought it was a joke…this is absolutely ridiculous.” While some thought the product was unnecessary, plastic surgeon Dr. Akash Chandawarkar, who is based in Tampa, Florida, explained that the product is “Perfect for after facelift, necklift, or submental lipo.” Another fans agreed, writing, “Yes, I bet we sleep in this to help snatch our jawline🕺.”
Influencer Jasmine Alisha shared how she used the mask while sleeping ahead of her “morning shed.”
“Shoutout to Skims for giving me this snatched jawline,” Jasmine said while turning her head side-to-side. “The way the Skims face shapewear has elevated my entire morning shed is crazy,” she said. “My jawline has never been this snatched.”
Some of Kardashian’s other recent launches include a nipple-pierced bra, Roberto Cavalli bikinis and more.
