Far-left streamer Hasan Piker sparked online controversy after he mocked the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents injured in Operation Metro Surge during a campaign event alongside Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., Monday night.
Recalling his time in Minnesota amid protests over the Trump administration’s federal immigration crackdown, Piker said he thought agents must be “extra racist” to be out in frigid winter temperatures and mocked one of them who was injured as the crowd laughed along.
“We saw a lot of funny compilations as well, you know. A lot of hip bones were broken. ‘Officer Martinez down,'” he said while speaking to Democratic socialist and failed Minneapolis mayoral candidate Omar Fateh, who hosted the sold-out Minneapolis event.
Piker has joined several prominent Democrats on their campaign trails, emerging as a polarizing figure within the Democratic Party that some are embracing while others are rejecting. He has made national headlines for past rhetoric, including his claim that “America deserved 9/11,” and has faced accusations of antisemitism over his remarks on Israel and Hamas.
ILHAN OMAR’S RADICAL STREAMER ALLY RALLIES WITH EMBATTLED LAWMAKER AFTER DC HOME RAID
Omar, who shared the stage with Piker that night, has been immersed in controversy of her own after Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents searched her Washington, D.C., home earlier this month and a federal court filing identified the congresswoman as “Ilhan Nur Said Elmi, aka Ilhan Abdullahi Omar.”
Rep. Angie Craig, D-Minn., and Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., publicly condemned Piker, while other Minnesota Democrats called for the event to be canceled as voters prepare to head to the polls ahead of next week’s midterm elections. Omar’s campaign backed her decision to attend to mobilize young voters.
Piker also told Fateh that he was inspired by the “solidarity” and “mutual aid” following the deployment of thousands of ICE and Customs and Border Protection agents to Minnesota. Protests resulted in multiple arrests, objects and fireworks thrown at law enforcement and the disruption of a church service. Two U.S. citizens, Renee Good and Alex Pretti, were killed during interactions with federal law enforcement.
ILHAN OMAR JOINS ‘POLARIZING AND DANGEROUS’ STREAMER AT CAMPAIGN EVENT DESPITE DEMOCRATIC BACKLASH

“It wasn’t just the networks that were very quickly propped up, the mutual aid that I saw, the protests that sparked up that said, ‘We’re not going to take it. We’re not going to sit aside and watch this administration come and rip our communities apart and kidnap our neighbors,'” he said.
Piker, who streams his commentary on Twitch, called Republicans “terrorists” during the event, and Omar referred to the party as the “pedophile protection party.”
Conservatives on social media quickly condemned Piker’s comments.
“Hasan Piker was asked what stuck with him from Operation Metro Surge in Minneapolis: ‘Funny compilations’ of federal agents being injured,” Charlie Kirk Show executive producer Andrew Kolvet posted on X. “He also called the agents ‘extra racist.’ This isn’t comedy. It’s tacit support for the far-left insurrection network against federal law enforcement. Pro-revolution. Pro-anarchy.”
“Every Democrat he campaigned with should be asked if they agree. Disgusting.”
“Hasan and his elected Democrats are sick,” Loomer Unleashed posted on X.
HASAN PIKER LASHES OUT AT REPUBLICANS, CALLS THEM ‘TERRORISTS’ IN EVENT WITH ILHAN OMAR

In another post on X, Crucible Updates wrote, “Hasan watched federal agents get hurt and his takeaway was ‘funny compilations… a lot of hip bones were broken.’ Millions of young women take their politics from this guy. Let that sink in.”
“WTF?!” Gina Milan, a conservative media personality, posted on X.
“This guy is America’s biggest cancer. Just another Nepo baby,” Kevin Smith, host of Loud Majority Live, posted on X.
A Department of Homeland Security (DHS) spokesperson said in a statement to Fox News Digital that the “vilification” of ICE agents who “put their lives on the line” every day to enforce the law is contributing to a more than 1,600% increase in assaults against them.
“They should be thanking our law enforcement for removing these dangerous criminals from Minnesota—NOT vilifying law enforcement,” the spokesperson wrote. “While these people smear ICE, law enforcement is arresting criminals and saving countless American lives.”
The spokesperson added that ICE agents do not target individuals based on skin color and take required steps to determine immigration status and removability before making an arrest.
“Politicians and activists must turn the temperature down and tone down their rhetoric,” the spokesperson wrote.
Omar is running against former state trooper John Nagel and independent candidate DeVelle Jackson in the upcoming midterm elections for Minnesota’s 5th Congressional District.
