Mike Tindall has celebrated his 46th birthday in glamorous style.

Mike, 46, took to Instagram on Sunday, October 20, to share a string of memories from his weekend activities, which included marking the milestone alongside wife, Zara Tindall, and the couple’s friends.

Sharing a compilation of photos and videos that captured Mike and Zara, 43, on board a vessel, enjoying a picturesque lunch and partying in Barcelona, Spain, the U.K. native and former rugby player captioned his post, “What a birthday weekend!! Thanks to @georgieainslie @benainslie for having us along with the whole team @ineosbritannia ! Gutted not to see the comebacks of comebacks but and [sic] incredible experience non the less. Barcelona rocked it also!!! @johnabassadone was simply the best host and @iainbalshaw brought the laughs!!”

Zara, who does not hold a royal title despite being 20th in the line of succession to the British royal throne, is the second child of Princess Anne and Mark Phillips, who divorced in 1992.

Princess Anne’s daughter, Zara Tindall (née Phillips), found an instant connection with Mike Tindall. Mike, a former rugby union player, ultimately proposed to Olympic silver medalist Zara — whom the Princess Royal shares with ex-husband Captain Mark Phillips, alongside son Peter Phillips — in December 2010. They wed one year later at Canongate Kirk in […]

Mike and Zara married in 2011 and share three children: Mia, born in 2014, Lena, born in 2018 and Lucas, born in 2021.

Zara featured in several of the images shared by Mike via social media, including the opening selfie that caught Zara smiling for the camera while seated on her husband’s lap. Mike is seen smiling just as widely in the romantic image.

The compilation’s second shot showed the duo charging glasses of bubbles up to the camera as two of their friends join in on the festivities. Mike’s post also included a photo of himself at a table overlooking the water with British TV personality Georgie Ainslie, as a yacht-shaped cake takes center stage in front of them.

Additional images in the post included another selfie of Mike and Zara on board a moving vessel as well as another that captured Mike with his arm wrapped around his wife while partying in a darkened area.

Mike met Zara during a night out in Australia in 2003, telling the Daily Mail in June 2011 that Zara had been on a gap year in the country with her friends. “Clive [Woodward, my coach] had just told me I was dropped for the semi-final, so I went out for a beer with two others who weren’t playing, Martin Corry and Austin Healey,” Mike told the outlet at the time. “Zara was in the same bar; we got introduced but didn’t speak that much. Later on, Austin gave me her number and said, ‘She wants you to text her, to say where you’re all going out after the final so she can come along.’ Aussie’s going to love me saying this — he’ll take credit for us meeting.”

The retired athlete messaged Zara, a decorated equestrian who won a silver medal at the 2021 Olympic Games in London, the following day and the rest is history.

The pair put on a dapper display earlier this year when they stepped out on the red carpet together for the June 13 screening of Federer: Twelve Final Days, a documentary on tennis legend Roger Federer.
