Minnie Driver has nothing to hide on social media.
The actress posted a pair of makeup-free selfies to her Instagram account on Friday, November 29.
“Ok, I’m pretty vain, so posting [a] picture without a scrap of makeup and un-touched up, are rare,” she wrote in the caption. “The only reason I’m doing it now is because I’ve been ill, I have felt every one of my years recently.”
Driver, 54, also credited her friend, Karen Bartov, for helping her share a more candid depiction of herself.
“I’m pretty astonished that my friend Keren can make me look like this,” she continued. “Christmas glow without the 5 mulled wines. Love you Keren and thank you.”
Driver’s fans couldn’t get enough.
“Normalize this,” one follower wrote in the comments. “I look up to this.”
Another chimed in with, “Not just saying this. You can do that more often! Rawr!! 🔥😎 No makeup, feeling better (soon 🤞) – more of us! Our perceptions have been skewed for centuries. I mean, yes we’ve seen the power of makeup. But the power of a fresh face? Young or mature or older? It’s soul affirming somehow like, “oh, I recognize you”. 💚 Aren’t you stunning! 🥰”
Driver revealed earlier this month that she was battling the flu and credited partner Addison O’Dea with helping her get through it. The Good Will Hunting actress showed her appreciation in an Instagram post celebrating the couple’s six-year anniversary.
“All day long he’s been sticking thermometers in my ear and setting timers for medication and sticking his head round the door and writing me cards and making me food I can’t eat. ♥️,” she wrote in the caption.
O’Dea returned the favor, posting a tribute of his own. His Instagram carousel featured pictures of the couple together and with Driver’s 16-year-old son, Henry.
“We go on adventures together, we share a brilliant rascal, have a demented dog, and I still wear flip flops to most everything,” O’Dea wrote. “Because this is, as I have discovered, true love: I don’t ever want her to be ‘more like me’ and she does not expect me to be ‘more like her’ — all we expect is for each other to be themselves and show love, grace, respect, and patience. Happy anniversary Minnie, I love you just the way you are.”
Driver and O’Dea met at a party years ago but didn’t begin dating until 2018 when the two reconnected while delivering supplies to those in need as wildfires tore through Malibu. She told People in a July 2024 interview that the two shared an “epic connection” and she could “see what an amazing person he was from the minute I met him.”
