Marissa Springer is clearing up her relationship status with TikTok star Desmond Scott amid his divorce from Kristy Scott.
“I’m going to say this one time and one time only. I’m not the one he cheated with,” Springer, 24, said via Instagram on Sunday, January 18, without referring to Desmond or Kristy by name. “Everyone involved in this situation knows that it was not me.”
Days before, Desmond made headlines when he was spotted kissing a mystery woman at a bar in Houston. Us Weekly confirmed that Springer was the woman in the video. She told Us that Desmond was out at the bar with his friends and “in good spirits.” (TMZ was the first to report the news.)
Springer claimed in Sunday’s video that she had told TMZ she didn’t know who Desmond was “prior” and that the pair had “met that night.”
“I’m pretty sure when you guys meet someone at a club, you don’t interrogate them about who or what their social media status is,” Springer said. “We were obviously many drinks in. The vibes were there, as you can tell.”
She claimed, “They are divorced. The ink is definitely dry. Most of you guys don’t actually know these people. I don’t have kids, I don’t cook, I don’t really watch family content. I’m not on that side of TikTok.”
Springer noted that she knew she would “get hate” whether she posted a video or not, but she wanted to “clear [her] name.”
“Again, I’m not the woman he cheated with,” Springer asserted. “Moral of the story, nobody knows what goes on behind closed doors, and it should never reach the extent of having death threats to you or your family.”
News broke earlier this month that Kristy, who goes by Kristy Sarah online, filed for divorce from Desmond, citing alleged infidelity as the reason for their split. In the filing obtained by Us, Kristy noted that there is no chance of reconciliation and that the pair would “soon stop living together as husband and wife.” Us Weekly reached out for comment at the time.
Desmond, for his part, broke his silence on Kristy’s divorce filing on January 10. In a statement to Instagram, Desmond began by “apologizing to Kristy, our family, and everyone who has been impacted by the public attention surrounding this situation.”
“I know this news has been disappointing for many, and I’m truly sorry for the hurt it has caused,” he wrote at the time. “Kristy is the mother of my children, and that will always come first. I remain fully committed to being an active, present, and loving parent to our boys, as I have always been.”
Desmond admitted he made “choices” that he was “not proud of.”
“I took responsibility for those actions,” he wrote. “I shared this with her directly and personally, and ultimately we decided to divorce. I ask for privacy and compassion as we navigate this difficult chapter in our lives.”
Kristy has yet to publicly address Desmond’s statement or her divorce filing. Desmond and Kristy tied the knot in 2014. The exes are parents to sons Vance and Westin.
