Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift are thinking about their future as they gear up to tie the knot.
“They absolutely want a family,” a source exclusively tells Us Weekly. “Their dream is to have kids.”
The insider adds that Kelce and Swift, both 35, might “not wait too long” when it comes to family planning.
“She’s in a great space in her career and with her success and she can take some time away,” the source says.
Swift and Kelce announced on Tuesday, August 26, that they are engaged after two years of dating.
“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” read the caption from the couple’s joint Instagram post.
The proposal took place in a garden full of flowers at Kelce’s home. In the first snap, the football player can be seen down on one knee. The slideshow also included multiple shots of Kelce and Swift gazing lovingly at one another. Swift also shared a glimpse of her engagement ring, an old mine brilliant cut designed by Kindred Lubeck at Artifex Fine Jewelry.
Many members of Swift and Kelce’s inner circle shared their congratulations. Travis’ brother, Jason Kelce ,and sister-in-law Kylie Kelce both “liked” the pair’s official engagement post. Jason also gave Travis and Swift a special shout out while kicking off the Wednesday, August 27, episode of the brothers’ “New Heights” podcast.
“There is one gigantic piece of new news that just hit the waves,” Jason said in a solo intro video. “We did record this podcast on Monday, which was Travis’ one day off so he is not here to address this himself but we felt necessary here as a team on New Heights to get together and send Travis and Taylor a giant congratulations for being engaged. The proposal heard ‘round the world, f**k yeah.”
Travis’ teammate, Patrick Mahomes, reshared the story while his wife, Brittany Mahomes, shared a sweet tribute to Swift and Kelce.
“Two of the most genuine people meet & fall in love. Just so happy for these two,” she gushed via her Instagram Story.
Travis’ father, Ed Kelce, later shared more details from the big moment.
“He got her out there, they were about to go out to dinner, and he said, ‘let’s go out and have a glass of wine,’ … they got out there, and that’s when he asked her, and it was beautiful,” Ed said to local outlet News 5 Cleveland. “They started FaceTiming me and their mother and her folks to make sure everybody knew. So, to see them together is great.”
Ed added that the proposal took place earlier that month.
“Travis actually did the proposal, oh, maybe two weeks, not quite two weeks ago,” he explained. “He was going to put it off till this week. I think she was getting maybe a little antsy, but he was going to put her off till this week, to, you know, make some grand thing, to make it a big special event. And I told him repeatedly, you know, you could do it on the side of the road, do it any place that makes it a special event … when you get down on one knee and ask her to marry you.”
After the news broke of Travis and Swift’s engagement, Travis’ mom, Donna Kelce, paid tribute to her son and future daughter-in-law by changing her Facebook profile picture to throwback photos of Travis and Swift as kids.
