Nicole Kidman was spotted for the first time since filing for divorce from longtime husband Keith Urban.
Kidman, 58, was seen hiking in Nashville on Wednesday, October 1, according to photos obtained by The Daily Mail. The Oscar winner sported black leggings, a gray jacket, matching hat and oversized sunglasses as she enjoyed some exercise and conversation with her sister, Antonia Kidman.
The appearance came two days after Us Weekly confirmed Kidman and Urban, 57, had separated after 19 years of marriage on Monday, September 29. The following day, Kidman filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split in documents obtained by Us. The documents included a parenting plan, a child support plan and a “parenting seminar order.”
Kidman and Urban, who share daughters Sunday, 17, and Faith, 14, agreed for the actress to be named the “primary residential parent” to their kids. The parenting plan noted the children will spend 306 days of the year with Kidman and 59 days of the year with Urban as part of their agreement.
Additionally, the plan stated, “In the unlikely event that the parties do not agree on a major decision for either minor child, [Kidman] shall have final decision-making authority.”
Shortly after the divorce filing, an insider exclusively told Us Kidman was “devastated” by the breakup and “had been trying to get them to work on their marriage.”
“She didn’t tell many friends what was really going on with them and was holding this in for months,” the source added.
Kidman was spotted four days before news of her separation from Urban rocked Hollywood. She attended a Clé de Peau Beauté event in Los Angeles on Saturday, September 25, in a floor-length black gown and bright red lipstick. The Lioness star noticeably wore her wedding ring in photos snapped at the event, which were later shared in the brand’s press release.
Kidman and Urban tied the knot in 2006 after one year of dating. While speaking candidly with Harper’s Bazaar following their 15th wedding anniversary, Kidman admitted to overcoming hurdles in her marriage to Urban.
“We’re always working through stuff, but it’s very much love-based, so there’s an enormous amount of give and take,” she told the outlet in September 2021. “I want him to have the best life he can have, and he responds the same way.”
Similarly, Urban got real about Kidman speaking up about some of his negative habits.
“Negativity and doubt are always creeping into my life and having to be kept at bay. Thankfully, Nic is great at calling me on it, and our marriage is at the stage where she doesn’t have to say anything,” the singer told GQ Australia in July 2012. “I hear myself prattling on with negative crap and her loaded silence shuts me up.”
The former pair were last spotted out together in public in Nashville at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup match between Los Angeles Football Club and Esperance de Tunis at GEODIS Park in June.
Prior to Kidman and Urban’s union, the Babygirl actress was married to Tom Cruise from 1990 to 2001. Kidman and Cruise, 63, adopted kids Isabella, 32, and Connor, 30, during their marriage.
