He’s all hot and bothered
A Staten Island man allegedly caused a 3-alarm blaze that ripped through his neighborhood when he set fire to a pair of sex toys — including a rubber vagina — outside his home, cops said.
Harry Torres sparked the flames of passion at about 1 p.m. Wednesday in West Brighton and scorched his home, two neighboring houses and two cars on North Burgher Avenue, officials said.
It’s not clear why the 37 year old lit the imitate aides ablaze – but his bungled boudoir bbq prompted officials to hit him with a slew of charges, including arson.
“I started the fire,” Torres allegedly admitted to cops. “I was in the backyard at my house and I lit two sex toys on fire.”
The erotic inferno began in the rear of Torres’ home, which soon caught fire, cops said.
The “heavy deep seated fire” then spread to two additional homes, Deputy Assistant Chief David Simms said in a statement on X.
The flames also damaged two nearby vehicles, according to his criminal complaint.
The fire was under control by 4 p.m. Wednesday and required six hand lines and one tower ladder to extinguish the flames, Simms said. While one toy was a rubber vagina, it was not clear what the other toy was.
The FDNY deemed the fire to be “incendiary,” police said.
There were no injuries reported, according to sources.
Torres was charged with fourth-degree arson, second-degree reckless endangerment, and fourth-degree criminal mischief for the alleged antics, court records indicate.
He exited his Thursday arraignment with a soft-spoken voice in the same blue robe and slippers he was arrested in, The Staten Island Advance reported.
Torres pleaded not guilty to all charges and was released on non-monetary conditions, according to court records.
