Cops were called to the Hellgate Station post office at 153 E. 110th Street just after 6:15 p.m.

A man allegedly entered the post office armed with a gun and attempted to rob the federal building, police said, adding that he struck a 51-year-old female in the head with the weapon and demanded money.

However, the suspect fled empty-handed on a bike.

The victim was treated at the scene for her injuries and did not require further medical attention, the NYPD said.

No arrests have been made, and an investigation is ongoing.

The daring attempted robbery comes just a week after a postal worker was knifed to death at a Harlem deli.

Ray Hodges, an on-duty USPS letter carrier in Manhattan, was stabbed several times inside the deli after he stepped in front of Jaia Cruz, who was waiting in line.

Cruz was arrested at the scene and charged with murder.
