The NYPD on Sunday released surveillance footage of the sicko who tried to rape a 32-year-old woman in Queens early Friday before a good Samaritan chased the creep away.

The video captured the suspect, wearing blue jeans and a light-colored sweater, leaving the scene of the assault in East Elmhurst around 5:45 a.m., police said in a press release.

The victim was walking near 31-31 94th St. when her attacker snuck up behind her, put a handkerchief over her mouth and threatened to killer her, then threw her to the ground, authorities said.

Cops said the criminal pulled down the woman’s pants and underwear and tried to assault her.

That’s when a gutsy local resident spotted the vicious attack and intervened, WABC-TV News reported.

“I kinda lift up the window, and I kinda heard someone say in Spanish, ‘I have three kids, I have three kids!’ ” said the female witness, who asked not to be identified, to Eyewitness News. “As I opened my gate door is when I saw the person on top of the lady, and that’s when I started yelling at him.

“I just ran after him,” she said. “But I knew I wasn’t going to make it because, first of all, I wasn’t wearing the right shoes, and it’s slippery.”

Cops said the fiend ran off. His traumatized victim was listed in stable condition after being rushed to a local hospital, the NYPD said.

Police sources said the victim was apparently walking home from work when she was attacked.

Cops are asking anyone who can help nab the would-be rapist to call NYPD Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS or at crimestoppers.nypdonline.org.

“I would be happy that I was able to stop that,” the good Samaritan said, “that I was there at the right time.”
