They’re like “do not disturb” signs for people.

Most people have been approached or hit on at the bar by garrulous boozehounds who just can’t take a hint.

Fortunately, an enterprising duo in Japan has created special wristbands that allow other pub-goers to tell if they’re craving conversation or just want to sip in silence — effectively heading off any excruciating exchanges at the pass.

“Tonight’s Wristband” was developed by a sake-loving woman in her 20s and an American expat — and trialed in the popular Noge drinking district in Yokohama.

Each clever wristband is emblazoned with different messages. Patrons can select one based on what they’re socially in the mood for that particular night, Sora News 24 reported.

In case fellow bar-goers are too inebriated to see the text clearly — a likely scenario in a neighborhood with 600 bars — these bracelets also handily come in three different colors.

Green bands signify that the boozer is looking to mingle and, as one of them denotes, have a “fun chat about anything today.”

The other one of the bands, which displays the messages in both English and Japanese, reads “care to join me for a cheers.”

The yellow bracelets indicate the same level of gregariousness but are specifically designed for those who are new in town and need suggestions for what to see and drink.

These wearable icebreakers read “Got any recommendations? Please tell me your favorite” and “I would love to learn more about this town.”

Drinkers who want to be left entirely alone should opt for the red variety, which is essentially the wristband equivalent of a do-not-disturb sign.

In typical Japanese fashion, the red bracelet politely lets liquor-logged louts know that the wearer is “just enjoying a drink” and “not looking to chat” or “having a quiet night tonight, thanks for understanding.”

Voila, a potentially awkward exchange nipped in the Bud-weiser.

The “Tonight’s Wristband” — also promoted under the name “See You in Noge” — will eventually be sold to bars and individuals this summer for $3.50 per set of six, The PR Times reported.

But between now and April 30, a limited number of them are being given away for free.

Aspiring wearers can follow the See You in Noge Twitter or Instagram accounts and send them a direct message if interested.
