Amber “AD” Smith and Ollie Sutherland are not in a hurry to walk down the wedding aisle now that they’re expecting their first baby.
“Wedding planning is going slowly but surely. We’re just taking it day by day, really,” AD, 34, exclusively told Us Weekly at the Netflix Summer Break event held at the Santa Monica Pier on Thursday, July 17. “I’m loving, loving, loving, being a fiancée, so I’m not really in a rush.”
She added, “We’re going to get married this year at some point, so we’re [taking it] day by day.”
AD and Ollie, 33, also want to take their time organizing their big day since there’s, naturally, “a lot of stress” associated with wedding planning.
The two Netflix personalities met filming season 3 of Perfect Match after their respective broken Love Is Blind engagements. (AD was briefly engaged to Clay Gravesande during season 6, while Ollie previously popped the question to Demi Brown on the UK spinoff.)
Ollie proposed to AD during the Love Is Blind season 8 reunion, which aired on Netflix in March. They revealed AD’s pregnancy two months later.
“I’m feeling very blessed. My pregnancy is going great,” AD gushed to Us on Thursday. “Our little girl is healthy, and I’m just waiting around for her arrival.”
While AD and Ollie count down the days until their daughter’s birth, they are basking in their shared engagement bliss.
“There’s so many components to a beautiful relationship, but I think communication, transparency and willingness to be the best version of yourself for your partner, and I think that’s what is making us so successful,” AD said. “We’re still pretty early in our relationship, but I know I want to be the best version of myself, not only for myself, but for him. He’s working on the same goal to be a better version of him, and now we have a bigger goal, which is our daughter.”
AD also teased that she and Ollie could share more of their love story onscreen down the line.
“Ollie and I are open to literally almost everything,” AD quipped about the chance of signing onto another reality TV show. “We love this industry [and] we love this space. We’re thriving in it. And, if it’s not broken, don’t fix it.”
AD also shares candid moments from her life on her “What’s the Reality” podcast.
“My approach to my podcast is really just … transparency. I am a reality girly, not one but two [times], and who knows the space better?” she explained to Us. “I just want to always be an open, safe space for anyone to come and share their story and show people there’s more to them than what they saw on the screen or what they didn’t see on the screen, and just give people an opportunity to show themselves.”
Perfect Match season 3 premieres Friday, August 1, on Netflix.
