The Real Housewives of Orange County alum Meghan King told police her ex-husband Jim Edmonds was “emotionally abusive” after an explosive run-in with his current wife, Kortnie Edmonds, Us Weekly can exclusively report.

Us obtained bodycam footage from the Frontenac Police Department of their encounter with Meghan, 40, on May 1 after Kortnie called 911 and claimed the Bravo star entered her home without permission.

The footage starts without audio and shows Meghan surrounded by police near Jim and Kortnie’s Missouri home. (Meghan and Jim, 55, were married from October 2014 until Jim filed for divorce in October 2019. They settled their divorce in May 2021. Jim and Meghan share an 8-year-old daughter, Aspen, and 7-year-old twins, Hart and Hayes. Jim and Kortnie wed in September 2022.)

In the footage, Meghan appears to be walking back to her car when the audio starts and an officer tells her, “I am going to place you in cuffs if you don’t stop.”

Meghan shouts at the officer, “There is not a restraining order.”

The officer explained to the former RHOC star that he needed to verify that information. “Ma’am, I’m going to place you in cuffs if you don’t stop, we are going to detain you.”

“You have to calm down and talk to us,” the officer told Meghan. While talking to the police, Meghan told officers Jim had called her earlier in the day. She claimed he requested she drop off a dress for their daughter.

Breaking down. Meghan King burst into tears amid her ongoing visitation drama with ex-husband Jim Edmonds. “Nobody really talks about coercive control and the after effects of divorce,” King, 38, said as she wiped away tears in a Wednesday, February 15, Instagram Story video. “People say, ‘It’ll get better in time. It’ll get better with […]

Meghan became emotional as she told the officer she had previous orders against Jim and that he was “incredibly emotionally abusive.” She said, “He uses his name to push me around and his money.” Meghan denied she did anything wrong.

Meghan told the police that her ex was moving to Nashville, and she would have sole custody of their kids soon.

As Us first reported, Kortnie called the police and initially told them she wanted to press charges against Meghan. She later dropped that request.

Sources close to Meghan claimed Kortnie was “visibly upset” to see her when she opened the front door. She said she told her to leave the dress and get out, the source alleged. The insider claimed Meghan told Kortnie she needed to talk to her daughter, which led to Kortnie calling the police.

“It was shocking to her that it happened in the first place,” the source told Us.

“She is over this back and forth. She thinks it’s ridiculous. It was a very simple interaction that didn’t need police,” the source added. “Meghan is unfazed because she doesn’t want to escalate conflict. She just wants to take care of her family in peace.”

During her chat with police, Kortnie presented a different version of events.

“Meghan refused to hand Kortnie the dress and ‘pulled away and asked to speak to’ [her daughter]. Kortnie told Meghan that [her daughter] wasn’t home and she was at a baseball game with Jim,” the report noted. Kortnie told police Meghan became “upset.”

Kortnie said she closed the door after asking Meghan to leave. She said she walked towards a room when she saw Meghan inside the home yelling for her daughter.

The back and forth continues. Meghan King responded to ex-husband Jim Edmonds’ comments after he accused her of not letting him see their children. “I’m sick of verbal and emotional abuse not being classified as ‘abuse,’” the Real Housewives of Orange County alum, 38, wrote via her Instagram Stories on Friday, February 10. “The courts […]

The police report said, “Kortnie walked back to the front door and observed Meghan standing inside the house approximately 5 feet from the doorway.” Kortnie told police she told Meghan “get out of my house.”

The report said Kortnie claimed “Meghan slowly walked back outside the residence, but wedged her foot in the door briefly” so she couldn’t shut the door completely.

“After Meghan moved her foot, Kortnie closed the door,” the report noted. Jim arrived at the scene while police were still talking to Kortnie. He pulled up surveillance footage of the encounter. The police sent the case to prosecutors, who declined to bring charges against Meghan.

Kortnie filed for a restraining order against Meghan following the incident. The case was dismissed after the two agreed to a consent order, which instructs Meghan not to come near Kornite and they would stay 150 feet away from each other at activities for Meghan and Jim’s kids.
