Robert Irwin isn’t afraid to sing along to his Dancing With the Stars music — and for good reason.

“I [have] no idea about dance, but I do know I love music,” Robert, 21, exclusively told Us Weekly following the Tuesday, September 23 live show, noting that partner Witney Carson keeps telling him to “feel that music” when they’re performing.

“For me, singing it, getting into it, and just giving every fiber of my being to this experience, that’s why I’m here,” he continued. “I’m so lucky that I have someone like Witney to direct all of this ridiculous tornado of passion and energy into some semblance of skill.”

Robert shared more advice from Witney, 31, who told him to “let the music move your body” and “take control.”

Tuesday one-hit wonder night featured Witney and Robert performing a tango to “Move Your Feet” by Junior Senior. They received a score of 22 out of 30 and a memorable comment from judge Derek Hough, who said the Australian term “crikey” while gushing over their performance.

“I think it is the most fitting response anyone could ever give,” Robert told Us. “Crikey is a great word. It sums up everything, and if my dance was crikey-level, mate, I’m happy.”

During the rehearsal package shown before their performance, Witney told Robert that they have a target on their back after being praised by the judges during the September 16 premiere. (Derek said last week that Robert and Witney had the “best first dance” they’ve seen in the show’s history.)

“The hardest part is just trying to better yourself, right? We try to top ourselves and I always try and make the best choreography that I can,” Witney told Us. “I always try and teach him the best way that I can.”
