Before the Seahawks’ losing streak hit three, injured QB Russell Wilson was in good spirits this week thanks to wife Ciara.
Wilson was focused on celebrating the singer, who turned 36 on Monday — the day before Seattle suffered a 13-10 loss to New Orleans. The star QB is still recovering from finger surgery after he sprained his right middle finger in a loss to the Rams earlier this month.
Wilson pulled out all the stops for his “queen.” The couple had dinner — likely on Sunday with Wilson in attendance for Monday night’s game — overlooking all of Seattle at private venue reserved just for them.
The LITA by Ciara designer took to Instagram to share a glimpse at the special date night Wilson had planned, which included rose pedals, candles, balloons and bouquets of flowers.
Music by The Weeknd played as the couple stepped out of the elevator to the scenic venue. Wilson eventually took the camera and filmed his wife, who was dressed in a black and white fur coat. He explained that they were going to watch movies and enjoy dessert.
In a separate post, the “Level Up” singer thanked her husband for such a special night.
“Wow Babe… You for loving me the way you do!” Ciara wrote. “I didn’t have much growing up, but I can say I had a lot of love. That feeling made me feel like I could conquer the world. That’s how you make me feel. Like a little girl all over again. I love you so much!”
After three straight losses at home to start the season (their first time since 2011) Seattle is feeling Wilson’s absence. There is no exact timetable for his return.
Geno Smith has replaced Wilson while he’s on IR, and has let late-game opportunities to slip away. In Monday’s loss to New Orleans, the former Jets quarterback took multiple sacks while scrambling to get a throw off in a 13-10 defeat.
The Seahawks play host to the Jaguars in Week 8.
