Sebastian Stan’s career has really blossomed over the last couple of decades.
After moving from Romania to Rockland County, New York, as a child, Stan got involved in a few theater productions and, as a result, developed a passion for acting. Stan landed his first role in Law & Order in 2003, but got his big break when he appeared as Carter Baizen in Gossip Girl from 2007 to 2010.
Stan’s career reached another level entirely after he starred as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier in Marvel’s Captain America: The First Avenger. He went on to reprise the role more than five times, including in the Disney+ miniseries The Falcon and the Winter Soldier in 2021 and the 2025 film Thunderbolts.
In 2024, Stan won his first Golden Globe for Best Actor in A Different Man and received his first Academy Award nomination for his performance as then-real estate mogul Donald Trump in The Apprentice.
“This is for my mom, who left Romania in search of a better life, gave me everything, and for my stepfather, Tony, who took on a single mom and a grown-up kid,” he shared in his Golden Globe acceptance speech. “Thank you for being a real man.”
Aside from his career, Stan has also made headlines for his relationships. Before dating his girlfriend, Annabelle Wallis, in 2022, the actor had romances with stars such as Leighton Meester, Dianna Agron, Jennifer Morrison, Margarita Levieva and Alejandra Onieva.
