A wealthy Los Angeles socialite who plowed her car into two young brothers on a crosswalk asked an appellate court on Tuesday to toss her double murder conviction thrown out.

Mom-of-two Rebecca Grossman, 62, is now seeking a new trial — with her lawyer claiming the judge who oversaw her trial didn’t give a jury adequate instructions before they found her guilty of second-degree murder in the deaths of Jacob and Mark Iskander in Westlake Village, 35 miles west of Los Angeles.

Attorney Lara Gressley told the three-member Second District court panel that prosecutors didn’t prove the socialite was aware her actions would cause a “high probability of death” when she plowed into the Iskanders with her Mercedes SUV at a high rate of speed after drinking.

The Iskanders were killed in front of their horrified parents during a family outing in Westlake Village, 35 miles west of Los Angeles in 2020.

Grossman, of Hidden Hills, who was estranged from her plastic surgeon husband Dr. Peter Grossman, had been on a date with her then lover, former MLB pitcher Scott Erickson, 58, who was driving just ahead of her.

At trial, a jury heard that she was doing up to 81 mph in a 45 mph zone in a residential neighborhood seconds before the deaths.

A jury found her guilty in February 2025 of murder and vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence, along with hit-and-run driving resulting in death. She was ordered by the court today to pay $47,000 to the victims’ family.

Grossman was sentenced to 15 years to life for the shocking deaths that grabbed headlines worldwide.

But on Tuesday, Gressley told the justices that there had been a “prejudicial element” and an “instructional error” by original Judge Joseph Brandolino.

“We do not have the actions of someone who has a conscious disregard for human life,” the lawyer claimed. “The evidence here is that she did care about human life.”

Acting Presiding Justice Carl Moor, of the Second Appellate District, noted that the original trial had heard evidence that Grossman was “engaged in racing behavior (while) moving back and forth between lanes” just before the deadly smash.

He referred to a witness later at a hospital who said Grossman showed a “lack of remorse” and an “odd” demeanor.

Prosecutors argued Grossman’s appeal “must be rejected.”

Dr. Grossman, who attended the hearing, declined to comment to a Post reporter.

The disgraced sociality’s attorney told The Post she is trying to keep a positive demeanor behind bars.

“It’s not fun as you can imagine. It’s prison, so it’s definitely not a good place,” Gressley said. “But despite the terrible circumstances in this case and what happened the jury did not have the appropriate information to sustain a murder charge which is putting her in prison for life.”

The Iskanders’ parents, Nancy and Karim; did not attend the hearing although other supporters showed up. The devastated have since moved out of California with their two remaining children to start a new life amid their grief.

Nicole Mastro, a close family friend, told The Post of Grossman: “There’s substantial evidence that this woman murdered these two boys and she’s acting like she did not. She doesn’t acknowledge what she did.

She added of the Iskander family: “It’s horrific for them to relive any part of this. There’s no closure.”
