Three rookie Suffolk County cops helped deliver a baby girl Monday after an expectant mom went into labor on the side of the highway — and in the middle of a storm, according to officials.

The brand new officers responded to a 911 call reporting a woman in active labor on the side of Sunrise Highway in Shirley, Long Island at 6:11 p.m., according to a press release from Suffolk County Police Department.

Seventh Precinct officers Joseph Lacey, Brendan Nappi, and Jonathan Verity rushed to the scene and helped the 37-year-old woman safely give birth to a baby girl all while huddled in her Honda Accord through heavy rain.

All three officers had just graduated from the Suffolk County Police Academy on Friday.

The trio wrapped the newborn in a blanket just before EMS arrived and transported the mom and daughter to Stony Brook University Hospital.

Both the mother and baby are healthy and doing well, according to police.

Cops and New Yorkers alike have stepped in to help women who have gone into labor at less-than-ideal times and locations.

During the summer of 2023, two Port Authority officers helped deliver a baby boy near the entrance to the Lincoln Tunnel during rush hour.

And just last month, two straphangers stepped in and guided a woman through labor on the W train in Manhattan.
