Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the declined 2.28% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the were New Asia Construction & Development Corp (TW:), which rose 9.32% or 1.30 points to trade at 15.25 at the close. Meanwhile, Formosa Petrochemical Corp (TW:) added 6.84% or 2.25 points to end at 35.15 and Shin Tai Industry Co Ltd (TW:) was up 6.09% or 4.10 points to 71.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ASRock Inc (TW:), which fell 10.00% or 24.50 points to trade at 220.50 at the close. Gold Circuit Electronics Ltd (TW:) declined 9.96% or 22.50 points to end at 203.50 and PCL Technologies Inc (TW:) was down 9.93% or 15.00 points to 136.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.
Shares in New Asia Construction & Development Corp (TW:) rose to all time highs; rising 9.32% or 1.30 to 15.25.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.47% or 0.36 to $76.94 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.54% or 0.44 to hit $80.57 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.22% or 5.79 to trade at $2,684.39 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.11% to 33.09, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.14% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.33% at 109.45.
