Taylor Swift Announces ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ Album Release Party Event Coming to Theaters

Taylor Swift has more than a new album on the horizon.

With The Life of a Showgirl set for an October 3 release, Swift, 35, is also working on an accompanying project that will hit movie theaters.

Titled “Taylor Swift: The Official Release Party of a Showgirl,” the 89-minute release party event will run in theaters from October 3 to 5, according to the film’s website.

“I hereby invite you to a *dazzling* soirée, The Official Release Party of a Showgirl: Oct 3 – Oct 5 only in cinemas!” Swift wrote via Instagram on Friday, September 19, adding that fans who buy a ticket will also get a look at her new single and music video.

“You’ll get to see the exclusive world premiere of the music video for my new single ‘The Fate of Ophelia,’ along with never before seen behind-the-scenes footage of how we made it, cut by cut explanations of what inspired this music, and the brand new lyric videos from my new album The Life of a Showgirl, ❤️‍🔥” she wrote.

Fans can see the lights, see the party, the ballgowns in all 540 AMC Theatres locations as well as thousands of Cinemark and Regal locations across North America beginning at 3 p.m. ET the day of the release, according to Variety.

Tickets will run for $12 — perhaps a nod to The Life of a Showgirl being Swift’s 12th studio album and the album’s 12 tracks.

Swift first announced The Life of a Showgirl during an August 12 appearance on her fiancé Travis Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast.

“So I wanted to show you something,” she teased to Travis, 35, and his cohost, brother Jason Kelce.

She then picked up a briefcase with T.S. written in orange on the front. She opened the case and revealed the blurred-out album, telling them, “This is my brand-new album, The Life of a Showgirl.”

As Swift’s fiancé, Travis has already listened to the album multiple times over — and promised fans it is “all bangers” and “so much fun to listen to.”

“I’m gonna go ahead and keep poking the bear to all the Swifties,” he said during the August 27 episode of the podcast. “I keep listening to this album and I know she mentioned that it’s gonna be a lot more pop beats and everything, but it’s still so poetic and her melodies and her references and stuff.”
