Judging HGTV’s Bachelor Mansion Takeover turned out to be a reunion of exes for Tayshia Adams.

“I may have been a little, you know, more strict on two men in particular,” Tayshia, 35, exclusively joked to Us Weekly on Thursday, March 12, at the Bachelor Mansion Makeover event. “They go by the names of Noah and Brendan. I don’t know if you know them, but they were all my season.”

Tayshia serves as one of the judges on Bachelor Mansion Takeover, where fellow franchise alums renovate the show’s backdrop, alongside Tyler Cameron and a rotating celebrity guest. Noah Erb and Brendan Morais are among the contestants tasked with fixing up the California property. (Noah, 31, recently renovated his Oklahoma home with wife Abigail Heringer, while Brendan, 36, works as a commercial roofer and painter.)

“Yes, I was a little harsh on them at times,” Tayshia added to Us. “I don’t like to sugarcoat things. I want to, like, give you honest feedback.”

Tyler, 33, however, pointed out that his co-judge was “rightfully” picky in her renovation critique.

“I try to give [the cast] some grace, but I’m really looking at the craftsmanship and how well they’re doing with that and all that,” Tyler said, referring to Noah and Brendan’s work on the guys’ bunk room that Tayshia likened to Toy Story. He added, “They showed up. They did well on this show.”

According to Tayshia, Tyler was “the good parent” to her “bad parent” when it came to speaking with the Bachelor Nation stars.

Tayshia served as the Bachelorette on season 16, taking over after lead Clare Crawley left within 12 days alongside then-fiancé Dale Moss. Noah and Brendan, meanwhile, were two of Tayshia’s frontrunners before she eliminated them in favor of Zac Clark. Tayshia and Zac, 42, ultimately went their separate ways in November 2021, calling off their engagement.

In the years since leaving the Bachelor Mansion, Tayshia has turned her attention to hosting. She previously emceeded The Bachelorette with Kaitlyn Bristowe in 2021 before Jesse Palmer took over the gig. Bachelor Mansion Takeover is her latest return to the franchise.

“It was so much more exciting, and it was fun, and I had no stress,” she said on Thursday. “It was a lot of stress the first time. I didn’t have two suitcases, like, ready for two months of travel and trying to find love and all those things.”

On Bachelor Mansion Takeover, a group of Bachelor alums are paired up to renovate different rooms in the abode weekly. They will also face eliminations before the $100,000 prize is given out to the last designer standing. At the end of the Monday, March 9, episode, Brendan won immunity in the “Golden Screwdriver” challenge and must choose whether to eliminate Noah or Tammy Ly by the next episode.

Bachelor Mansion Takeover airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on HGTV and are available to stream the next day on HBO Max.
