Teddi Mellencamp has her eye on Kevin Costner following her divorce from Edwin Arroyave.
During a November episode of the “Two Ts in a Pod” podcast, cohost Tamra Judge joked that Mellencamp, 43, was “free” for Costner. “Kevin, if you’re listening, my Instagram name is @teddimellencamp,” Mellencamp quipped.
After Page Six published an article with the quotes in November, Mellencamp took to her social media to react to the headline.
“Gonna binge Yellowstone just in case K. Costner reads Page Six…” Mellencamp wrote via Instagram on Monday, December 2, alongside a sultry selfie. (Costner has been single since his messy divorce from Christine Baumgartner in 2023.)
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum announced on November 2 that she was filing for divorce from Arroyave after 13 years of marriage.
“After a great deal of care and consideration, I have made the difficult decision to file for divorce,” Mellencamp wrote at the time. “My priority is my children and ensuring that every care is taken with their privacy and wellbeing throughout this new chapter.”
“Making a public statement is not something I wanted to do, but in an effort to protect my family from undue speculation and rumors, I felt being open, honest and vulnerable was the best path forward,” she continued.
Per court documents obtained by Us Weekly, Mellencamp listed her and Arroyave’s date of separation as October 20. She cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason behind their split and initially asked for sole physical and legal custody of their kids. (Mellencamp and Arroyave share Slate, 12, Cruz, 10, and Dove, 4.)
Arroyave filed his response to the divorce later that month, listing their date of separation as November 1 and asking for joint legal and physical custody of their children. (Arroyave is also dad to daughter Isabella from a previous romance.) In subsequent court docs obtained by Us, Mellencamp filed for joint physical and legal custody of their kids.
Us confirmed later that month that Mellencamp had an affair with her horse trainer, Simon Schroeder, months before filing for divorce from Arroyave.
“Simon and Teddi had a thing several months ago, but it’s not still happening,” a source exclusively told Us, claiming that Arroyave had also previously been unfaithful.
“Teddi and Edwin had been working on the problems of their marriage, despite his past indiscretions,” the insider said. “They stayed in the marriage for the sake of the kids. Teddi isn’t excusing her behavior, but this was the first and only time she strayed outside of the marriage and says there’s two sides to the story. They are both to blame.”
Mellencamp went on to address her affair with Schroeder in an Instagram post on November 24. “The only person who can change your life is you. We have 2 options, pretend to be a victim or stand up and fight for yourself. We all deserve peace and happiness,” Teddi wrote. “I have cried and mourned. I have taken accountability and apologized for things I have done wrong. Now, I have given myself permission to grow and thrive.”
“There are 3 sides to every story. How can I stand up and show up for the people that do matter?” she continued. “This is called being an adult. This is what saying with my full chest means.”
In the comments section of her post, Mellencamp denied speculation that she was linked to Schoreder while his wife was giving birth. She wrote, “Nope. Not true.”
Arroyave spoke out about the divorce for the first time on November 27. “I’m doing as good as I could be doing, and just getting ready for the holidays and focusing on the things that I can control and all that other stuff kind of figures itself out as it figures itself out,” Arroyave said on an episode of iHeartRadio’s “The Eds” podcast. “But I’ve always been big on just focusing on what you can control, and all that other stuff you can’t control, you just leave that up to God. And that’s what gives you peace.”
“I think when you try to control things that you can’t control is when you rob yourself of the inner peace,” he continued. “So I’ve been intentional with that part and staying in faith and focusing on the children and stuff like that.”
Arroyave shared that “it’s obviously difficult times” before saying, “We do what we always do, which is you continue to push forward. Life’s gonna throw some curveballs at you and you just gotta continue to push and things have a way to always figure themselves out within time.”
