Teddi Mellencamp’s estranged husband, Edwin Arroyave, has found another chance at love.
“About last night,” Arroyave, 48, wrote via his Instagram Story on Monday, October 27, alongside a photo of him and a blonde woman dressed in formal evening wear.
Arroyave tagged the woman’s account, who appears to go by the name Elsa.
Arroyave wore a black suit paired with a matching button-up, completing the look with black matching sunglasses. Elsa, for her part, donned a black floor-length gown featuring cutouts to show off some skin. The pair posed together in front of the water. smiling for the camera.
In a subsequent post, Arroyave also showed off another pic featuring the pair cozying up in coordinating white ensembles.
Before his new relationship, Arroyave was married to Mellencamp for 13 years. The exes share three children: Slate, 13, Cruz, 11, and Dove, 5. Arroyave also has a daughter from a previous relationship, 15-year-old Bella.
In November 2024, Mellencamp, 44, filed for divorce from Arroyave, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split.
Earlier this month, Arroyave shared that he was dating again amid his ongoing divorce.
“I am dating someone, yeah,” Arroyave said on an October episode of iHeartRadio’s “The Ed’s” podcast. “It’s pretty serious.”
At the time, Arroyave did not share any more details about his mystery woman or their budding romance.
Mellencamp, for her part, has been prioritizing her health as she battles stage IV melanoma. Mellencamp was diagnosed with stage II melanoma in 2022, but in February revealed that the cancer metastasized to her lungs and brain.
While Arroyave and Mellencamp are no longer in a romantic relationship, he has been by her side amid treatment.
“It’s been a crazy year for us,” Arroyave reflected on his podcast. “First came the separation. Then we found out about the cancer about five months after that. The cancer came, and we put a stop to [our divorce] until we figured that part out. Her health comes first.”
Mellencamp received good news about her condition this month, as her latest scans showed no detectable cancer. However, she will stay on immunotherapy for the near future and, as she explained to fans, is not technically in what doctors would refer to as “remission.”
In her Us Weekly cover story, which was published in April, Mellencamp shared her appreciation for her estranged husband’s support.
“I’m really lucky that Edwin, who I was in the middle of a divorce from, we put everything on hold. [It] wasn’t really the time to be fighting over emails,” she told Us. “He’s been extremely kind and helping with the kids. That’s made things a lot easier.”
Mellencamp continued, “He’s been there for me a hundred percent, he’s been there for the kids, and we’re back to laughing. We call it the ‘Divorce Chronicles.’ And I want to talk [to him] about the kind of girls [he’s] going to marry … because if these people are going to take care of my kids, this is what I want, and this is the definition of what I don’t want.”
