Though Teresa Giudice once said she would “never” reconcile with her brother, Joe Gorga, and her sister-in-law, Melissa Gorga, the Real Housewives of New Jersey OG says she now plans to “meet “ —and “speak” — with her estranged family.
Giudice, 53, revealed on the Thursday, October 9, episode of iHeartRadio’s “I Do, Part 2” podcast that she has reached out to Joe, 51, and Melissa, 46, amid their years-long family feud.
“Time does heal all wounds. And when time goes by, you forget things,” she said. “Gia and I were on Special Forces. We spent a lot of time together before we went on Special Forces and we talked a lot about a lot of things. So I want to be a good example for my children.”
Teresa, who shares daughters Gia, 24, Gabriella, 21, Milania, 19, and Audriana, 16, with ex-husband Joe Giudice, explained that she wants her daughters to get along and to “always be there for each other.”
“Be a beautiful family,” she continued. “If someone doesn’t get a long, be the bigger person. Try to make it work. I’ve got to practice what I preach.”
Teresa revealed that she reached out to her brother Joe, 51, after a September interview with Sirius XM’s Jeff Lewis Live, when Lewis, 55, asked if she would be open to reconciling.
“I mean, never say never,” she said at the time.
The Giudice-Gorga feud dates back to season 3 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, which aired in 2011, when Joe Gorga and Joe Giudice got into a physical altercation during the season premiere.
Tensions flared most recently when the Gorgas skipped out on Teresa’s 2022 wedding to current husband Luis Ruelas. At the RHONJ season 13 reunion in 2023, Teresa and Melissa — who have argued over everything from sprinkle cookies to stripper allegations — got into a heated argument and the next season’s reunion needed to be split into two segments so that the two sides did not have to interact with each other.
Years later, Teresa said she is ready to leave it all in the past.
“Time heals always — because then you forget,” she told Page Six in a story published October 7. “Like, you’re angry when it first happens. But now, it’s been … I’m married three years. So it’s been three years. He didn’t come to my wedding, so we haven’t spoken in three years.”
“You can’t talk about the past,” she continued. “Like, you really can’t because if you talk about the past you’re never going to really get anywhere. I would say just to move on because I think that you’ll never get anywhere speaking about the past.”
Melissa expressed surprise at Teresa’s recent willingness to patch things up when asked about it by “Virtual Reali-Tea” hosts Evan Real and Danny Murphy in September.
“The truth is, for the last year, the door has been closed,” she said. “She’s said out loud on multiple platforms, podcasts, whatever it might be, that the door is closed. So, the truth is, I’m just confused why it might be opening or cracking a little bit.”
“Neither of us have had any contact in probably two years at this point, so that’s just so strange to come out with that out of nowhere,” she added.
RHONJ has been on pause since season 14 wrapped in 2024. In an August appearance on “Las Culturistas” podcast, Andy Cohen told hosts Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers, “we’re close,” when asked about the show’s return, but he did not elaborate on what it meant.
