Tom Brady is still wrapping his head around his eldest son, Jack, turning 18, but that doesn’t mean he’s having a hard time letting go.

“I’m ready to kick him out the door,” the legendary former NFL quarterback, 48, jokes to Us Weekly during an exclusive interview promoting his latest partnership with Hertz Car Sales. “I’m like, ‘Here you go! It’s time for you to get off and get your responsibilities done.’”

Brady — who is also the father of son Benjamin, 15, and daughter Vivian, 12, with his ex-wife, Gisele Bündchen — explains that he finds himself “micromanaging” his children less and less as they get older.

“They’re growing up,” he notes. “They’re just mature, and I try to be their coach sometimes, try to be their teammate sometimes and just try to be available and present as often as possible.”

Brady’s bunch! Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen started their family in 2009 — and after their 2022 split, they’ve continued to document their fun-filled lives with their kids. Brady was set up in 2006 on a blind date with Bündchen shortly after splitting from Bridget Moynahan. The pair were thrown a curveball when Brady learned […]

Jack, whom Brady shares with ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan, celebrated his milestone 18th birthday on August 22.

“I love being his dad, and he’s a great kid,” the seven-time Super Bowl champion turned Fox Sports broadcaster tells Us. “I feel so blessed. I always tell him, ‘Man, you just always blow your dad away.’ His choices and his values and who he is and how his friends talk about him. And I just hear great compliments from other parents that it’s nice to hear when you’re not around.”

Brady is also proud of how Jack handles himself behind the wheel.

“I love seeing the kids grow up and kind of go from these kids that were totally dependent to kids that are very independent,” he says. “Driving is one of those things, and it’s great when you’re sitting there as a dad looking across and your boy is doing it all by himself. And he’s a very responsible driver. He’s a very good driver. So, fortunately, I haven’t had much to worry about with him on the streets.”

Tom Brady has come a long way since he was first drafted by the New England Patriots in 2000. After signing with the Pats, the football player eventually earned a G.O.A.T. (Greatest of All Time) nickname thanks to his impressive skills on the field. Brady has even appeared in nine Super Bowl games, winning seven […]

Watching Jack get his driver’s license brought back fond memories of Brady’s own first car.

“It was the 1967 Dodge, and it went very fast,” he remembers. “It didn’t start if it was below 50 degrees in the morning. If my car didn’t start, my mom had to drive me to school, but it was very safe, and it was very slow, and it did the trick. It got me from point A to point B. The stereo didn’t work. The lap belt barely worked. Whatever. We survived.”

Now, Brady hopes to help other drivers find the perfect high-quality used car via Hertz’s new website, which allows users to browse, finance and buy vehicles entirely online.

“You just go to HertzCarSales.com,” he says of the Wednesday, October 1, launch. “Everything’s fast, everything’s easy. These cars have undergone inspections. They’ve got warranties. It gives their customers great peace of mind. So check them out if you’re in need of a pre-owned car.”
