A pair of new surveys released Saturday shows the race between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris is at a dead heat in the last days of the 2024 presidential campaign.

With barely a week to go, Trump and Harris were tied at 49% each according to a survey from Emerson College, and 48% respectively according to TIPP Insights.

Both surveys come just a day after New York Times/Sienna polling also found the race deadlocked.

In the case of both Emerson and the Gray Lady, the results show what has been a long a slow decline for Harris.

In August Emerson showed Harris leading Trump nationally 50% to 46%, while an Oct. 8 Times survey showed Harris beating Trump by three points.

“With 10 days until Election Day, the national poll finds a divided electorate,” Spencer Kimball, executive director of Emerson College Polling, said in a statement accompanying their most recent findings. “In this poll, independents report breaking for Trump 49% to 46% — a reversal from 2020, where they reported voting for Biden by about 10 points.”

“Male voters are breaking for Trump by 13 points, 55% to 42%, a larger margin than in 2020, while women break for Harris by 10 points, 54% to 44%, underperforming Biden’s support in 2020,” Kimball added.

Throughout the race, Trump has dominated on the the biggest issues of voter concern, the economy and immigration, where he routinely leads Harris.
