Buttermilk Rasam, Anyone? 

Deepthi Vaishnavy has a unique rasam recipe made of buttermilk. Majjiga Charu AKA Buttermilk Rasam is a soothing dish.

Ingredients 

1 cup of curd 1 cup of water 1/2 tsp of mustard 1/2 tsp of of jeera 1/2 tsp of chana dal 1/2 tsp of urad dal Curry leaves 2-3 dry red chillies 1 inch of ginger (chopped) 10 small onions (chopped) 1 tbsp of oil 1/4 tsp of hing or asafoetida

Step 1 

First, take a bowl of curd and whisk it.

Then, add a cup of water into the curd.

Step 2

In a pan, add oil and make the tadka with chopped chillies, urad dal, mustard, jeera and chana dal.

Step 3

Add the baby onions, curry leaves and ginger to the pan and keep roasting.  Add turmeric powder, hing and red chilli powder.

Finally, add this tadka, salt and coriander leaves to your bowl with buttermilk. Your Buttermilk Rasam AKA Majjiga Charu is ready!
