2 large sized tomatoes Water Tamarind extract (tamarind soaked in water and squeezed) 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder 1 tsp of pepper 1 tsp of cumin seeds 5 garlic cloves 2 red chillies Oil - 2 tbsp of oil Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp of mustard seeds Fenugreek seeds - 1-4 tsp of fenugreek seeds Dried chillies - 1 (broken) dried chilli Curry leaves Ground Rasam masala 1/4 tsp of hing Coriander leaves

Add 2 chopped tomatoes with 2 cups of water and boil it for 19 minutes. Later, cool it.

Once it cools, remove the tomato pieces. Add salt, turmeric powder and tamarind extract and bring it to boil.

Meanwhile, make fresh rasam powder by adding all the dry spices with garlic cloves into a blender to make a coarse rasam powder.

Make a tadka with mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, curry leaves, freshly made rasam powder and hing.

Add this tadka to your rasam and mix well. Bring it to boil and your Madhampatti Thakkali Rasam is ready. Enjoy with hot rice.
