Savour homemade cheesy veg florentine packed with aroma this winter season. Chef Aruna Vijay shared a simple recipe to prepare this deliciousness without an oven. 

Homemade Florentine

For the white sauce mixture • 1/2 tbsp butter • 2 chopped garlic cloves • 1 chopped medium onion • 1/3 cup brocolli florets • 1/4 cup sweet corn • 1/4 cup chopped baby corn • 1/3 cup chopped carrot • 1 tsp oregano • 1 tsp chilli flakes • 1 tsp black pepper powder • Salt • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour • 3/4 cup milk • A pinch of nutmeg powder • 1.5 cubes of processed cheese • 1/4 cup mozzarella cheese

For herbed rice • 1 tsp oil • 1/2 cup boiled rice • 1 tsp chilli flakes • 1 tsp oregano • Salt For assembling • Grated processed cheese • Mozzarella cheese

• Add butter to a pan and saute chopped garlic and chopped onion. Next, add brocolli florets and saute.

• Pour chopped carrot, sweet corn, chopped baby corn and saute them. • Once done, add chilli flakes, black pepper powder, oregano, salt, and flour. Stir everything well.

• Next, add milk, nutmeg powder, grated processed cheese, and mozzarella cheese. Cook till the gravy turns dense and loaded with molten cheese.

Step 3

• To make herbed rice, heat oil in a pan and add boiled rice, chilli flakes, oregano, and salt. Mix everything gently and the flavourful rice is ready.

• In the last step, add layers of herbed rice, white sauce mixture, and loads of grated processed cheese and mozzarella cheese. Cover and cook for a few minutes till the cheese melts completely.
