South Indian Recipes: How To Make Karnataka's Dharwad Peda At Home

The history of this famous sweet in Karnataka is about 175 years old. This delicacy is prepared on all the happy occasions in the state. 

Dharwad Peda

2 litre Milk 2 tbsp lemon juice 1 tbsp ghee

INGREDIENTS

1 small cup sugar 1/4th tsp cardamom powder 1 small cup milk

INGREDIENTS

1. Stir and boil 1 litre milk ion medium flame.  2. Now add lemon juice to it and keep sitrring. 

PROCEDURE

3. Switch the flame off as soon as the milk curdles and water gets seperated.  4. Now strain it out using a cloth and strainer.

5. Hang this curled milk remains in a cotton cloth for 20 minutes.  6. Add it to a pan on low flame after 20 mins and break it.

9. You cannot let it dry completely while drying, so make sure you keep adding a little milk in between.

10. As the crumble textured mixture turns golden brown, grind it into fine powder.  11. Make cylindrical sweets and coat them with sugar.
