Where Blake Lively and Taylor Swift’s Friendship Stands After Justin Baldoni’s Lawsuit Is Dismissed (Exclusive)

Shaking it off is easier said than done.

Blake Lively and Taylor Swift have not made any progress with their friendship fallout despite the actress’ recent victory in her ongoing legal battle with Justin Baldoni.

“Although it was great news for Blake, she hasn’t rekindled her friendship with Taylor yet,” a source exclusively tells Us Weekly. “Taylor has not been in touch with Blake and still does not want to discuss anything to do with the lawsuit.”

Lively, 37, remains “hopeful” that she and Swift, 35, will “rekindle their friendship,” according to the insider, “but as of now, there is still distance.”

The Gossip Girl alum has been in the midst of high-profile legal dispute with her It Ends With Us costar and director, Baldoni, since December 2024 when she filed a lawsuit against him alleging sexual harassment and retaliation.

When the Jane the Virgin alum, 41, countersued Lively for defamation and extortion in January, he dragged her longtime friend Swift into the drama by claiming the A Simple Favor star had used the Grammy winner’s star power to pressure him into changing a scene in their movie.

“Taylor was shocked to be referred to in work messages sent to Blake’s director and to be brought into this,” a source previously told Us.

Baldoni’s lawyer subsequently subpoenaed Swift — who denied having any creative input in It Ends With Us aside from lending one of her songs to the soundtrack — but withdrew the summons in May.

“We supported the efforts of Taylor’s team to quash these inappropriate subpoenas directed to her counsel, and we will continue to stand up for any third party who is unjustly harassed or threatened in the process,” Lively’s rep told Us at the time.

A federal judge dealt Baldoni a major blow on Monday, June 9, by dismissing the actor’s lawsuit against Lively, though he has the option of filing an amended complaint by June 23.

In response, Baldoni’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, vowed on Tuesday, June 10, to “march forward with the same confidence that we had when Ms. Lively and her cohorts initiated this battle.”

Both Lively and Baldoni have denied any wrongdoing in the case, which is scheduled to go to trial in March 2026.

“Blake feels vindicated and is hopeful the worst is over. This has been her worst living nightmare, and she feels relief as she is able to move forward with her life,” the first source tells Us. “It’s been tough dealing with everything publicly, but she’s starting to feel less shame now and more confident being in public.”
