Taylor Sheridan‘s hit series Landman was renewed for season 3 — but which stars are and aren’t returning?
Inspired by the “Boomtown” podcast series, Landman is focused on the West Texas oil industry with a specific focus on crisis executive Tommy Norris and his family. The Paramount+ show, which premiered in 2024, introduced Billy Bob Thornton as the corporate fixer working for an oil titan (Jon Hamm) while building up to its promise of plot twists.
The season finale killed off Hamm’s Monty while Tommy was named the president of M-Tex before getting kidnapped — and severely beaten — by a drug cartel leader. Tommy is eventually released with the promise that he will work with the cartel.
Season 2 raised the stakes by shaking up the narrative with Demi Moore’s Cami added into the mix more. Elsewhere in the show, Ali Larter’s Angela, Jacob Lofland‘s Cooper, Michelle Randolph‘s Ainsley and more are at the center of their own drama.
Before the second season came to an end, Landman had already been renewed for a third installment. Season 2 struck viewership records for Paramount+ by achieving over 9.2 million streaming views for its premiere episode in the first two days on service. Views increased from the first season premiere, making it the most watched premiere for any original series for Paramount+.
Keep scrolling to see which Landman cast members have confirmed they are returning for season 3 — and which haven’t yet:
Billy Bob Thornton
Thornton signed on for four or five seasons of Landman, telling The Hollywood Reporter in November 2025 that he would remain on the hit series “as long as I’m able” or “until the story runs out.”
Jon Hamm
After playing a large role in season 1, Hamm’s character was killed off.
Demi Moore
Creator Christian Wallace weighed in on how it is Cami’s time to shine, telling Variety in January 2025, “There is a lot more story left to tell with Cami. Taylor has big plans, that’s all I’m going to say.”
Wallace elaborated in a separate interview with TV Insider.
“I think Demi’s character in this first season was kind of playing a little bit of second fiddle to Monty, at least in his role as the president of M-Tex Oil,” Wallace explained. “He’s the one that’s calling the shots and has to make these big decisions, and so he’s really the one that’s thrust in the fire and is honestly kind of trying to shield his family from the stress that he’s experiencing, which ultimately plays a role in his demise. And Cami is aware but is not involved in the daily ongoings of M-Tex. And so his passing is kind of an incredible opportunity for Cami to play a bigger role in this world.”
Andy Garcia
It remains to be seen whether Garcia’s character will remain the head of the drug cartel going into season 3.
Ali Larter
Landman wouldn’t be what it is without Angela calling Tommy up — and visiting the senior center with her daughter.
Michelle Randolph
Speaking of Ainsley, the show still has a long way to go with her onscreen journey.
Jacob Lofland
Cooper’s personal life is thriving but it is unclear how much trouble his professional life is in ahead of the third season.
Paulina Chavez
Ariana’s relationship with Cooper is a central part of the show. Moving forward, Landman will continue to follow their story.
Kayla Wallace
All of Us are on the edge of our seats awaiting the newest development in Rebecca’s life.
James Jordan
What would Tommy’s home life be without Dale there?
Colm Feore
The same goes for Nathan a.k.a Neil and his presence in the Norris household.
Sam Elliott
Elliott signed a two-year Landman contract before Paramount+ officially renewed the show for a third season.
“I’m excited to see what unfolds in season 3,” Elliott told Extra TV in November 2025. “I mean, we’re talking about season 2, but that’s backstory for us at this point. We’re all kind of looking toward April and May when we start shooting season 3.”
