The woman who was wanted by California law enforcement in connection with the vicious caught-on-camera stabbing death of her estranged fire captain wife last month has been arrested in Mexico.

Yolanda Marodi, who is also known as Yolanda Olejniczak, was taken into custody following a joint effort by Mexican and US authorities.

A warrant from US officials said they had video footage showing the 53-year-old crossing the Mexico border just hours after the Feb. 17 killing outside the couple’s San Diego home.

The San Diego Sheriff’s Department confirmed to NBC 7 San Diego that Olejniczak has been released into the custody of US Marshalls for processing and booking, and will be charged in the murder of her wife, Rebecca “Becky” Marodi, a captain in the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, or Cal Fire.

Marodi could be heard begging for her life in chilling Ring camera footage filmed during the attack, with the 49-year-old Cal Fire veteran pleading with her wife, “Please … I don’t want to die” moments before the fatal stabbing.

The footage appears to show Olejniczak chasing her wife around on the front patio before Marodi can be seen again with what looks like blood on her neck as Olejniczak stands in front of her brandishing a blade with apparent blood on her arms, according to a warrant from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office.

“You should have thought of that before,” Olejniczak coldly replied, the warrant details.

Marodi’s mother, Lorena, who also lived in the home, called 911 around 9 p.m. on the night of the attack. Marodi was transported to Sharp Hospital where she was pronounced dead from multiple stab wounds.

Minutes after the alleged slaying, Olejniczak was spotted “gathering pets, random items and some luggage, and loading it into a silver Chevrolet Equinox SUV,” and fired off a text message to a friend saying, “We had a big fight and I hurt her. I’m sorry,” according to the report.

The slain captain had allegedly told Olejniczak she wanted to end their two-year marriage a week before she was killed.

“CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department is aware that Yolanda Marodi was apprehended. We thank our law enforcement partners in San Diego and Mexico for their hard work. Becky was a beloved member of our community and Department, and we miss her greatly,” Cal Fire said of the 30-year department veteran’s death in a statement.

Olejniczak has been in serious trouble with the law before, including serving more than nine years in prison after pleading guilty to voluntary manslaughter in the 2000 stabbing death of her ex-husband, James Olejniczak, court documents show.

She also pleaded guilty to fraud charges in 1995 for stealing more than $4,000 in state aid for unlawfully collecting child welfare payments.
