A construction worker fell to his death from the landmark Waldorf-Astoria New York hotel Thursday morning, authorities and sources said.
The 45-year-old hardhat was found on the ground around 9:40 a.m. outside the luxury hotel on Park Avenue near East 49th Street that has been under construction for years, according to cops and sources.
He had “injuries consistent with falling from an elevated position,” police said.
Law enfrocement sources confirmed the worker had fallen from the sixth floor.
EMS workers responded and pronounced him dead at the scene, authorities said.
A representative from the hotel did not immediately return a call for comment.
The Waldorf, a powerful skyline presence and symbol of Manhattan glamour, was home to the legendary Peacock Alley and was the stomping grounds of Cole Porter, Frank Sinatra and Marilyn Monroe before closing in February 2017.
The reopening was first touted for 2020 — and then for 2021, 2022 and 2023.
But a spokeswoman has confirmed that there will be no more postponements – the iconic hotel is set to reopen in the spring of this year, The Post reported last month.
