Wrestlers respond to stunning WWE releases

Several of the 17 wrestlers released in surprising move by WWE on Thursday night are speaking up.

Multiple big names — including former champions and up-and-coming stars — have begun sharing their thoughts on social media.

“All I can do is laugh,” wrote former NXT women’s champion Ember Moon.

Moon was among the bigger names let go by the outfit, all of which are now subject to a 90-day non-compete clause — something that several of the wrestlers poked at.

“90 DAYS LET’S GO TO WORK,” Mia Yim tweeted.

“Can someone tell me what 90 days is from yesterday?” tweeted Lince Dorado. “Asking for a friend.”

Oney Lorcan said he had a “great six years with WWE” and that he’s excited for his future wrestling all over the world when his 90-day non-compete expires.

Moon, Yim, Lorcan and Dorado await their wrestling free agency along with Keith Lee, Karrion Kross, Gran Metalik, Nia Jax, Jeet Rama, Katrina Cortez, Trey Baxter, Zayda Ramier, Jessi Kamea, B-Fab, Franky Monet, Eva Marie and Scarlett Bordeaux.

Kross, 36, a two-time former champion on WWE’s developmental NXT brand, posted a video with the caption “I heard you the whole time,” which elicited imagery that he will rise from the graveyard.

Bordeaux had an intriguing invitation for promoters to book her.

“Time to fulfill my wrestling dream of having a hardcore bra and panties match…,” she tweeted with a crying-laughing emoji. “But seriously someone book it!”

Several wrestlers opted to thank WWE for their shot at the big time.

“Thank you WWE universe for welcoming me with open arms during my stay in the company,” Metalik wrote. “Thank you @VinceMcMahon for granting me my release. I will miss you WWE universe. Remember the most important thing in life is to be Happy See you soon. ‘The king of the ropes’ Mascara Dorada.”

Cortez thanked McMahon and the WWE universe “for giving a 19-year-old girl the opportunity to fulfill her dream, to be the first masked woman, the first Chilean, and to represent Latinos/Hispanics.”

“We wish them the best in their future endeavors,” WWE said in a statement to The Post Thursday night.
