Yellowstone actor Cole Hauser has to watch his backside when he’s around older women.

Hauser, who plays Rip Wheeler on the beloved western series, said that some female fans have gotten a little handsy around him after a few drinks.

“I’ve had some old women grab my ass,” Hauser, 50, told the New York Post in a story published Sunday, August 31. “It’s been a little bit … a little bit strange.”

The actor noted that while there are the occasional outliers, most interactions with fans have been positive ones. “For the most part of it, everyone’s been very respectful,” he added. “But I think when the older ladies get a few drinks in them, they get a little aggressive.”

It’s Taylor Sheridan’s world and the Duttons are just living in it. The Yellowstone co-creator has found major success with the Kevin Costner-led series, which led to several spinoffs including 1883, 1923 and the upcoming 1883: The Bass Reeves Story. While the four shows exist in the same universe, Sheridan has opted to use the […]

Those fans may be sad to learn that Hauser has been married to wife Cynthia Daniel since 2006. Daniel, 49, is best known for her role as Liz Wakefield on the 1990s series Sweet Valley High. The pair share three kids together: Ryland, 20, Colt, 17, and Steely, 12.

Hauser and Daniel both confessed to Us Weekly that they’ve been crushing on each other for decades.

“My husband is my ‘90s crush,” Daniel exclusively told Us at ‘90s Con in 2024. “We’ve been together since the ‘90s.”

The Dawson’s Creek alum expanded on their marriage, crediting her husband for keeping things fresh.

“I would have to say that Cole never lets things get too stagnant,” she said. “He’s always wanting us to improve and grow and not be that old married couple that sits on the couch all day. He’s like, ‘No, no, no, let’s go. We gotta keep the fire.’”

Hauser agreed, telling Us in an interview that same month, “She was my ‘90s crush, and still is to this day.”

He was also quick to throw the credit back to his wife.

“For me, I would say it’s honestly just — it’s a two-way street,” he explained. “Being able to listen to each other, make sure that people are acknowledged in a relationship — and we have kids too — especially making sure that you give each other time, that she’s not running to the ground. I work really hard, but at the same time too, she’s at home [doing] the parenting thing. So I’m eternally grateful to have her in my life.”

True to form, Hauser is hard at work filming Yellowstone’s spinoff, which has the working title The Dutton Ranch. The series, which will air on Paramount+, will pick up where Yellowstone left off with Rip and Beth (Kelly Reilly) living on the ranch with their son Carter (Finn Little).

Veteran actress Annette Bening will also join the Yellowstone universe for The Dutton Ranch. She will play Beulah Jackson, a “powerful, cunning and charming head of a major ranch in Texas,” according to Deadline.

The Dutton Ranch does not yet have a release date.
