Zach Wilson has plenty to be thankful for this year, including his favorite fan.
The Jets rookie quarterback, who will start Sunday against the Texans after being sidelined four games due to injury, gushed over girlfriend Abbey Gile in a recent Instagram post.
“Sexy girl,” Wilson commented Wednesday on Gile’s Instagram, to which she replied, “My baby I love you.”
Wilson and Gile both hail from Utah and have been linked since they were teens. Gile joined Wilson, 22, and his family for the 2021 NFL Draft in April, when the former BYU quarterback was selected second overall by the Jets.

“Still can’t wrap my head around this moment. Feeling so blessed to have been a part of his journey since high school. Zach has worked so hard to be here and he made his dream reality. Nobody loves the game like this boy and he’s going to give everything he can to New York. I guess all the date nights watching film were for something,” Gile shared on Instagram in April. “I love this boy! JETS BABYYYY!”

Wilson, who has logged four touchdowns and nine interceptions so far this season, told the media Wednesday that he’s ready to make some changes for Sunday.
“Play fast,” Wilson said. “Play with my natural feel that I was given to play within the structure of the offense, and let my playmakers make plays.”

Wilson has missed the past month after injuring his knee in the Jets’ Week 7 loss to the Patriots. With quarterbacks Mike White and Joe Flacco currently on the reserve/COVID-19 list, it’s likely Josh Johnson will serve as Wilson’s backup on Sunday.
