A 15-year-old boy has been busted for the shooting at a college homecoming in Florida over the weekend that wounded 11 people, including six children — as cops revealed that none of the casualties were “the intended targets.”
Anthony Rivers III was detained Sunday following the bloody scene on Saturday night at Florida A&M University, Tallahassee Police Department said in a statement,
Rivers was involved in “a physical altercation” before the shooting with someone he knew, cops said.
“None of the victims appear to have been the intended targets,” the department said in the update.
Rivers faces 11 counts of attempted second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a delinquent, according to cops.
“What should have been a weekend of celebration in our community instead became a night of fear and violence for the victims and their families,” Chief of Police Lawrence Revell said in a statement.
“While this arrest marks a significant step forward, our work is far from over. We remain committed to holding those responsible accountable and getting answers for every family impacted by this tragedy,” he added.
This is a developing story. Please check back for updates.
