So, you’re telling Us there’s a chance? Amanda Batula and West Wilson are seemingly not taking their drama too seriously for Halloween this year.
The former Summer House couple got into the spirit of the holiday on Saturday, October 31, by revealing that they’d dressed up as Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels‘ Dumb and Dumber characters — complete with matching white and orange tuxedos from a classic scene in the 1994 blockbuster.
The couple served up their tongue-in-cheek costumes for the inevitable social media discourse, captioning their carousel, “Soup du jour.”
As expected, Instagram commenters were torn over the couple’s spooky season looks, with one critic quipping. “When art imitates life.”
“Yall are seriously asking for the hate comments at this point. lol,” another person insisted.
However, plenty of West and Amanda’s fans urged haters in the comment section to move on and let the pair live their lives.
“They are enjoying themselves while some of you come TO HIS PAGE to spew hate. Move on!! You are too invested in what they have going on. Go enjoy your Saturday. They sure are,” one defender wrote, with another adding, “Love that yall are having so much fun!!! And I’m laughing at all the triggered haters… they’re no fun!!!:”
Amanda and West have experienced no shortage of drama since they went public as a couple in March. The timing of their relationship immediately raised questions, as Amanda, 35, had separated from estranged husband Kyle Cooke only a few months earlier. (West, 31, previously dated Amanda’s formerly close friend, Ciara Miller. He has insisted there was no overlap with Amanda and either of their prior relationships.)
After the two were grilled about the timeline of their hookup at the Summer House season 10 reunion, it was reported that neither would be back for season 11, which was shot earlier this year.
Us exclusively reported on Friday, October 30, that Amanda recently made the decision to step away from reality TV, having turned down appearing on a second season of Summer House spinoff In the City.
“The In the City cast refused to film with West, so Amanda decided not to come back for next season,” a source confirmed to Us.
They added, “Amanda truly wanted a break, and wanted a break from the world having insight into her life and dissecting her relationship. West has been an emotional crutch for her and she was not going to film without him.”
As for where Amanda stands with Kyle, 44, these days, a separate insider recently told Us that they are still working through a complex post-breakup dynamic.
“Kyle and Amanda were doing well as far as a friendship, but have been going through a rough patch,” they said. “They have taken a few steps back and their communication hasn’t been great.”
Earlier this week, Kyle insisted he did not want to contribute to more “negativity online” after deleting an Instagram post in which he blamed West for ruining Amanda’s TV career.
“[Kyle and Amanda’s dynamic] has been tense and is heightened when West gets brought up,” the insider shared with Us. “They both hope the divorce will be finalized soon and both want that.”
